The pre-kindergarten program at St. Matthew is designed for students who miss the September 1st cut-off date for kindergarten or those students who have a summer birthday and would benefit from additional preparation time prior to enrolling in kindergarten.

- Learn about Jesus' love and how to share that with others
- Build relationships with other children and adults
- Observe their surroundings in a meaningful way
- Develop emergent reading skills through the use of Jolly Phonics
- Develop number sense through the Everyday Math Program
- Hone fine motor skills
- Learn about technology through the use of our computer labs and interactive lessons with the Promethean boards
- Create open-ended projects that allow for individuality
- Work in small and large groups
- Receive music, Spanish and physical education
